Spitalgarten in Regensburg

Nice and cozy! The food has always been absolutely okay so far. Whether alone, with the family or in a group. Everyone was always very friendly and accommodating! Prices are reasonable and you are also welcome with children. An absolute plus point is that stag parties do not come in. So even in summer a pleasantly quiet place right on the beautiful Danube

We were guests in the Spitalgarten from October 5th to October 9th, 2020. The rooms with a view of the Danube and the cathedral were comfortably furnished. The beer garden on the Danube is also very nice. The food and beer in the hospital garden is delicious. The team at the hospital garden was always friendly and helpful. We thank you for the nice days and will definitely come back sometime.

Everything for the best room clean and nice, everything you need, rarely eaten so well, staff 1 star. Seldom met such a nice executive team in the restaurant business, thank you for the weekend will definitely be back??

Nice view,great atmosphere BUT the waitress was really rude with us(probably cause we spoke english...)The toilets are unfortunately not very clean.

Today we were 9 in the hospital garden, the gentleman at the entrance was very nice and showed us our place then it started egtl in the pavilion assigned to us it was so dirty and everything shabby and covered with cobwebs that can easily spoil your appetite Then after a few minutes the gentleman from the service came initially quite cool but friendly later, however, rude, rude and he made the impression that he has no fun or any pleasure in his job and he shows that with eye rolls, puffy answers and generally one rather hostile attitude towards the guests, however, the colleagues were extremely friendly ? The menu was quite large, but you won't find any high-quality and beautiful dishes However, you are also there because of the beer garden and the card is OK for that The prices of drinks are fair and all in all okay, but prices for the food are overpriced in line with the performance two kinds of cordon bleu together around 120-140g, 80 grams of "fried potatoes" lemon cranberries not recommendable in terms of taste All in all, bad service dirty ambience and bad food The only pro is the beautiful location on the Danube However, very good handling of criticism from the management? I have seldom felt so welcome and received so caringly. Since I arrived late as a hotel guest, I asked about the kitchen times by phone on the way. Because my planned arrival was after the kitchen closed, I was offered some dishes from the menu so that one could be prepared for me. In Regensburg itself, the journey via GPS (Google Maps) only helped me to a limited extent. A short phone call gave me the hint "drive via Franziskanerplatz", the friendly lady was waiting outside and assigned me a parking space. The hospitality in the house is great. The Swiss sausage salad was very tasty, as was the light one. I also got tips for a late evening stroll and for the morning running route. Oh yes, in Corona times a lot is different: During the drive, my breakfast requests were asked so that everything would fit the next morning. Addendum: The breakfast left nothing to be desired! Traditional beer garden with old horse chestnut trees. Great views to the stone bridge and river. Typical bavarian dishes offered. Private brewery offering great selection of their own beers. I loved every bit of the experience!

Anyone who says the price-performance ratio is good is lying! I think the atmosphere with brass music in the background is great. But that's it for the good. There were 6 there and nobody really liked the food. I ate much better and, above all, cheaper. The absolute blast was the one I was allowed to hear after paying that I was badly brought up because I "only" gave a € 4 tip. Which was perfectly fine for the service I had to wait at least 10 minutes for each drink. Which is really a long wait when the food gets stuck in your throat because it's so dry. I am really disappointed

Nice beer garden. Just the usual Bavarian dishes like pork knuckle and roast pork? Not even close! Corn dumplings, pork cheek, Züngerl and a lot more. I still have to try everything out. Today I had delicious cordon bleu and that also has a culinary surprise in store. The sudden downpour was handled professionally by the friendly staff. We all stayed indoors.

The 2 stars only refer to the regional beer and the good location. The food was rather poor as the competition is way ahead. There are not many things you would expect / know from the beer garden, for example currywurst or, above all, French fries We just didn't like to go here, have now visited it several times, in the hope that something has changed, unfortunately not. This was our last visit. Reason unfriendly staff and food is getting leaner / selection of food + the Toilets smell horribly like the loo at the train station. If the new tenant is even interested, as far as you read the reviews, it's the customers or someone else's fault. Sad!

So a really beautiful beer garden. With a view of the Stone Bridge. Really a must if you are on tour in Regensburg. The food was very good to my taste and not to forget the beer is also great.

A wonderful dining experience, as always. The food was delicious whased down with nice local beer and the staff delightful. Even in the times of covid 19 the restaurant was managed in an organise manner with well-distanced tables and one way systems to enjoy a lovely dinner in a safe environment.

The food is always wonderful. This place has some of my favorite sauerkraut. We love the view of the river and make it a point to come here any time we're in Regensburg.

Great traditional Bavarian beer house in a stunning setting especially in the summer . Well worth a visit.

Very nice brewery on the banks of the Danube. Fast service and very nice waiters. Typical Bavarian menu with large portions. The beer is fantastic. Personally I drank the Pale Ale and I must say it was really good. There is also an outdoor garden and I imagine that in summer it is much more enjoyable.

One of the best Christmas markets in Regensburg. Visiting highly recommended.

The schnitzel and potato salad were both amazing, and the dark wheat (Weise dunkel) was also great. The views from the outdoor dining area overlooking the river are charming.

This place is a “Biergarten” so the emphasis is not put on the refine service or nice welcoming. They are many places and we were showed an area in the right corner of the garden to choose a sit. So we sat near the Danube which was very nice! The service was okay even though our waiter was only talking to my partner. I had a salad and a Salmon trout and my partner Regensburger Sausages and Sauerkraut. My trout was good and my salad as well. The salad dressing was also not overwhelming the taste of the trout. Honest food and familial place!

Nice place, great local beer. A nice Biergarten on the side. Some of the people speak English. You can also see some old machines used to brew beer. I recommend trying the Helles beer.

Alright for drinking and hanging out, but the food is pretty lacking especially for the prices. Get some drinks and talk and enjoy the scenery/view, but there are better options for food.

One of the best beergartens in Germany. They produce their own beer. The building complex has a status of a cultural heritage object. It is possible to eat there as well. Good for small and big companies.

Attractive beer garden, good staff. Beers are very nice and food well priced and generous. The smoked trout is delicious and it's only 10€ for a really big one
